To commemorate the 700th anniversary of the death of one of the great figures of literature, Montegrappa creates the new Dante Alighieri: Inferno with the Divine Comedy.
Dante's Divine Comedy is an epic narrative poem divided into three parts: Inferno, Purgatorio, and Paradiso. With 14,233 lines of rhyming verses, Dante embarks on a 6-day journey that describes the soul's journey to God. Inferno is Dante's most famous work and traces his descent into hell and his renunciation of sin.
From top ring to back cover, Dante Alighieri: Inferno illustrates the poet's journey with intricate casting. Between the mysterious hand-enameled forest where Dante's journey begins and the kingdom of the devil, Montegrappa artisans have recreated each of the nine circles of hell: limbo; lust; gluttony; greed; anger; heresy; violence; fraud and treason. The clip evokes Lucifer's tail, and appears to come out from the lid to extend the entire length of the feather.
