    Additional information:
    • The Meisterstück Around the World in 80 Days collection is inspired by the famous adventure novel by Jules Verne published in 1873. In the story, Phileas Fogg, a wealthy British gentleman and his French valet Passepartout, try to go around the world in 80 Days for a £ 20,000 bet. This Montblanc "Around the World in 80 Days" collection brings to life the first part of the adventure, from London to Bombay via Italy and Egypt. This LeGrand piece has a blue precious resin body and cover embossed with key elements of the journey: ocean waves, playing cards and a steamboat. An engraved steamboat appears on the cap, since it is the main means of transport for the characters in the first stage of their journey from London to Bombay; also in the upper part are engraved the numbers 80 and 18 that represent how many days Phileas Fogg took for the first stage of his trip (18) and for the entire trip (80). The wave pattern pays tribute to the crossing of seas and oceans during the first part of the trip. The wave is reminiscent of the Victorian style, which emerged in the United Kingdom and the British Empire throughout the Victorian era from the 1830s to the 1890s. The clip features an ace of spades in black lacquer, symbolizing the game. of cards during which the bet is made. The 14K gold nib is engraved with a hot air balloon, a reference to Jules Verne's first novel, 5 Weeks; and the start and end date of the trip from London (02.10) to Bombay (20.10).
