- In ancient times, the dragon was revered as the god of water and fire, and is considered one of the most auspicious symbols across Asia. Namiki has sought to pay homage to this mythical creature with the Emperor Chikin Dragon pen. This writing piece features an 18k two-tone nib and gold-plated details. It comes with an eyedropper, certificate of authenticity, specific Chinkin brochure, and paper hand-signed by Shouji Michikami. The dragon motif is crafted using chinkin, a technique where special chisels are used to engrave a pattern on the lacquered surface. The design is infused with color by applying an additional layer of lacquer to the chisel lines and embedding gold leaf or gold powder.
