To forge knightly swords, medieval blacksmiths used Damascus steel, the material from which the Pen of the Year 2021 has been created. The milled and brown lacquered grip area recreates the leather strap of the sword's hilt, while the matte cap with an anthracite gray surface with PVD titanium coating recalls the delicate structure of chain mail. Its button is adorned with a faceted red garnet with sunray cut and the "heraldic cross" symbol.
